Fish eggs, specifically from the capelin fish (smelt family).
You’ve been closed too long, I’m so delighted you’re coming back soon. Consistently excellent, can’t wait to see Monica and Hur San again, sake bombs!!
Pretty standard sushi at a pretty standard price. The place is quite nice looking.Went here for my birthday and got a few rolls of sushi with my girlfriend. We ordered crunchy, spicy, and tuna rolls and enjoyed them very much. Then we opened presents right in the restaurant and nobody seemed to mind. One thing we found odd was that different waitresses kept coming to our table and fumbling around our order. It ended up working out without any hassle, but greatly confused us at the time.
Chef is very personable and enjoys interacting with the clientele. The food is wonderful and prices are fair.
Oh no what happen to this place? I would have normally given it 5 stars but the last couple of times we have ordered take out the quality of the food has gone down. Way to much rice and little to no filling in the maki rolls. We ordered the spider roll and had practically no real crab in it but plenty of fake crab. I'm hesitant to go back. I'm still giving them 2 stars because I have never had bad service and they are always very nice to their customers.
Wonderful atmosphere. Great owners. Awesome sushi.
Excellent food!!! Amazing and friendly service!!! Really cozy place!!! 100% recomended!!! Definitely will come back!!!
This sushi place is within a five block walk radius from my apartment. They have very cheap and delicious rolls and usually have them out to you very quickly. They have excellent service and bring out those amazing warm hand towels for you in the beginning and bring you an orange cut up at the end for your dessert at the end of your meal.
Great environment and excellent sushi!
Very noisy
Solid sushi options at good prices. Service has always been good, which is nice if you have plans for the nearby theaters or ball game.
Staff are nice and friendly. Hope they add more drinks! Food is good though
MEH sushi great neighborhood though
Great place, staff and food. Order the hand-rolls...authentic, delicious and made to order
Decent sushi in southport
Fantastic sushi, friendly wait staff
Decent food awful service, I recommend take out
Great place. Always fresh and byowine!
The service was great and the food was really good. I recommend this place.
The sushi here is excellent and the staff is courteous. It's a little pricey but worth it.
Went early on a Sunday in January and it was the perfect atmosphere I was looking for. Quiet quaint place and candles on the tables. Ordered three different roles and each one of them was uniquely different and the taste of each one of them was exceptional. The artist in the kitchen are very talented and take great pride in their presentation of everything that comes out. It was my first time at this place and I would definitely go back.
Average sushi. Also pricey.
Service was excellent and friendly. Wonderful atmosphere. I thought the sushi was good- but not great. I would return based on the service and ambience.
Some of my favorite sushi in the city! The ring of fire is awesome! Come here for a birthday too! They will sing to you! :)
Great sushi. Owner is super friendly.
Great little neighborhood sushi place with very friendly staff and lots of options
They secretly took off more than what I tipped them without contacting or telling me at all
Good food
My partner and I stopped in on a fairly quiet Friday evening and were welcomed by a very friendly hostess and seating right away. We ordered agedashi tofu and several sushi rolls, all of which were delicious. The service was wonderful throughout the meal, as well. We'll definitely be coming back here for good sushi in a cozy, low-key setting.
Sushi Mura is my favorite sushi in town. It's affordable and delicious. The menu is large, and you can order traditional and also unique varieties of sushi. One of my favorite rolls has mango and it's fabulous! The service is always great, and they close your meal with a cute display of fresh oranges. I am never disappointed!
Fabulous sushi. Went before a concert and look forward to returning soon.
The service was excellent, the food was good. I decided to patron the location due to its proximity to the music box and was very pleasantly surprised. The food's presentation and quality was superior to the vast majority of sushi that I have had in Chicago. The ambiance is pleasant, cozy, and clean. The washrooms were well maintained and spoke of an establishment that takes their entire restaurant seriously. The service from the staff and chefs is what really stood out, and took this location from a pleasant place to eat to an almost definite revisit the next time I am in the area.
Very nice sake and service good precenracion in the local and apriciate the in ir out dinnin areas..,I can say I will defenetly came back here. :)
SOLID 5/5 stars for this place! Love the SALMON bento box.. it's a great value.. all other sushi rolls are Top Notch as well!! Would deff recommend to a friend!! 👍🏼
This is our favorite sushi place in Chicago! The staff is very friendly and always does an amazing job. We order special rolls, and of all the times we've been there, we've never had the same thing twice. The special rolls are literally works of art. We've taken everyone we know here and highly recommend it.
One of my very favorite sushi restaurants in the city....awesome rolls and great customer service!
great rolls! Very creative and a nice mix of tastes. I like it that it's much different than what you find at other places. It's kind of a dive inside, but great sushi!
My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner on Sunday, we haven't been to Sushi Mura for awhile. It was an okay experience. But the fish tasted as if it was frozen and then thawed. We were both disappointed with the taste of the fish and then we ended up paying $60.I would not recommend it.We plan an finding a better sushi spot. The service was good and the decor as we remembered, but the quality of the food was just not good.
Great sushi. Great sake selection. Wonderful staff! Love this place.
This ramen is the one dollar packet that we can get from groceries store... Not worthy. I've eaten real Japanese ramen, it's nothing like this.:(
Used to love this place until it gave me terrible food poisoning.
So far this is my favorite sushi place in the city. The staff is so friendly and the guys love an audience when they are preparing the rolls
The food is great here, and everyone is incredibly friendly. It's my go to sushi spot.
This is a Southport Corridor gem. The restaurant is warm and inviting no matter the time of year. They are BYOB but also offer Japanese beer. Their sushi rolls, spicy udon, and bi bim bop are tasty. Check out their wall of famous guests while you wait. The only downsides in my opinion - they are closed on Tuesdays and the seating is tight in my ( they do have 3 booths).
Fantastic service, great people, best sushi in Chicago and for the price, you can't beat it. They take pride in their work, and have been consistently awesome for over the past 10 years.
Very good sushi spot. I had the Sashimi special with some saki and the moochi ice cream for desert. Everything was excellent. The sashimi was perfectly prepared and offered a good variety (salmon, snapper, octopus and others). Service is efficient and very polite. They don't offer much beyond sushi but they do offer excellent rolls. Highly recommended.
